Remedial Therapist

VICKI YOUNGS

Remedial Therapist

Vicki works with a variety of people, treating a multitude of ailments, in both clinical and therapeutic settings. She particularly enjoys the professional relationship that she develops with her clients, and tailoring treatments to the needs of each individual.

Vicki started practicing bodywork back in 2004 when she enrolled in a Thai Massage course, in Thailand, under the instruction of Yan Praphas Sangkhawat. She enjoyed this experience so much that upon her return to the UK she embarked on a Diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. From then on she has continued to explore many different types of techniques including trigger point therapy, muscle energy technique, deep tissue massage and soft tissue release. In 2009 Vicki moved to Perth where she decided to take her training to the next level and completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Over her years as a therapist Vicki has worked with a variety of people, treating a multitude of ailments, in both clinical and therapeutic settings. She particularly enjoys the professional relationship that she develops with her clients, and tailoring treatments to the needs of each individual. Her work often combines different aspects of her training, and can include anything from varied massage techniques and mobilisation, to breath work, movement and gentle stretching.

Through her work as a remedial therapist Vicki has been privileged to help her clients achieve their goals in sporting events, work and in their everyday life. She has enjoyed working with athletes competing in triathlons, marathons and the ultimate Ironman event, and has supported them both pre and post-race. She also works with those who experience discomfort on a day to day basis, and is mindful of each person's individuality and the need to tailor each treatment to their particular requirements.

Vicki is also a dedicated Yoga student, and she is a yoga and pilates instructor. She finds that all 3 disciplines complement each other well and often she takes aspects from one into another. A continuation of her base learning has always been, and will always be, an important part of Vicki's work, not only for her own development, but also for the needs of her clients who put so much faith in her and her work.
